This is truly an international gathering! Our goal is to develop relationships among new Canadian members and others who attend Highland. Some of our attendees come from as far as Liberia, the Sudan and Nigeria. We usually have 30 to 40 who attend and try to meet on the first Sunday of every month at Highland. Most of the time a meal is included in our time together.
Over the past year, we’ve explored a variety of topics, such as packing nutritious school lunches for our children, preparing economical meals and preparing for Income Tax. For the next little while we have planned to include Conversational English in each of our programs and are planning to address a number of other timely topics and activities like:
- Learning more about insurance
- Worshiping with song and drums
- A games night
- A traditional Christmas dinner
